Location. Facing onto a quiet, narrow street, Dei Borgogni Hotel is a remodelled palazzo dating from 1800, and lies between the Trevi Fountain (200 metres away), and the Spanish Steps (350 metres away). The nearest airport is Rome Ciampino (CIA) 24 kilometres away, around 35 minutes by car.
Hotel Features.
The American Bar features a lacquered maroon bar and red- leather stools and couch. The adjoining dining room has a parquet floor, softly lit white cove ceiling, and picture window overlooking the garden, and is open early morning to late night for drinks and light meals. The hotel supplies complimentary bicycles.
Guestrooms. Dei Borgognoni Hotel offers 51 soundproofed guestrooms spread over four floors. Decor includes fabric wall coverings, ivory-coloured furniture with polished brass trim and gold brocade bedspreads. Getting there. A taxi to the hotel from the airport costs approximately 30 EUR. A bus (1 EUR) departs every 40 minutes to Termini (central train station), which is 1.5 kilometres from the hotel. A taxi from Termini to the hotel costs approximately 7 EUR. Metro line A (1 EUR) from Termini has a station (Spagna) 400 metres from the hotel.
Getting around: Rome's transportation system (ATAC) integrates buses, trams, the Metro subway, and suburban trains. Tickets should be bought before boarding from ATAC machines or tobacconists (tabacchi). A ticket costs €1, is valid for 75 minutes, and covers unlimited bus trips and one Metro trip. The nearest Metro station (Spagna) is 400 metres from the hotel. Buses stop 50 metres from the hotel. The hotel provides complimentary bicycles, but the city centre is also easily negotiated on foot. Driving is not recommended.
